Multiple DRUG ARRESTS stemming from narcotics investigations

September 7, 2012     The Washington County Drug Task Force consisting of the Washington County  Sheriff’s Office and the Chipley Police Department reports multiple over night arrests stemming from narcotics investigations.
Investigations included the purchase of several items used in the production of methamphetamine in addition to the dismantling of one active mobile methamphetamine lab.
Investigators with WCDTF, conducting overnight surveillance at a local  business, observed a suspect remove batteries from their packaging and attempt to conceal them in his clothing.  The suspect then exited the store and attempted to enter a vehicle that was located at the entrance.  After identifying themselves as law enforcement, the suspect attempted to reenter the store where he was subsequently arrested. Arrested was:
Roger Lee Thomas, 27 year old white male of 646 Highpocket Lane, Washington County, FL
·         Resisting Officer With Violence
·         Possession of Narcotic Equipment
·         Petit Theft
·         Violation of State Probation for Attempted Grand Theft and Burglary

Following the incident, officers were able to locate and stop the vehicle the suspect attempted to flee in near Orange Hill Road and Joiner Road.  A search of the vehicle revealed an active mobile methamphetamine lab as well as, marijuana and listed chemicals used in the manufacturing of methamphetamines. Arrested was:
Linda Gail Marble, 26 year old white female of 1231 Court Avenue, Washington County, FL
·         Possession of Marijuana
·         Possession of Controlled Substance
·         Petit Theft

WCDTF investigators then responded to a possible shoplifting in progress at Wal-Mart.  The suspect was acting erratically and had reentered the store several times.  After arriving on scene, investigators observed the female
suspect enter a vehicle in the parking lot of the store.  After being stopped for a traffic infraction, a search was conducted and revealedmarijuana on the female suspect.  A search of the driver revealed two baggies containing pills.  Arrested was:
Nancy Ann Parsons, 48 year old white female of Panama City Beach, FL
·         Possession of Marijuana

Russell Keith Eddins, 37 year old white male of Youngstown, FL
·         Possession of Controlled Substance Without Prescription
·         Currently on Federal Probation for Conspiracy to Distribute Over 500 grams of Methamphetamines

Investigators with WCSO observed a suspect attempting to purchase listed chemicals used in the manufacturing of methamphetamines at multiple locations within Chipley.  After being approached by law enforcement the suspect, as well as the driver of the vehicle, both admitted to purchasing the items to later use in manufacturing methamphetamines.   Arrested was:
Thomas Wayne Carter, 52 year old white male of Bonifay, FL
·         Possession of Listed Chemicals
·         Driving While License is Suspended or Revoked
“While our priority is long term narcotic investigations which result in the elimination of high level drug dealers, we will continue to target this type of mobile drug activity that directly threatens the safety of residents who unknowingly shop and travel alongside potential threats related to the production of methamphetamine” states Sheriff Haddock.  “We will not tolerate drug dealers using our local businesses to supply their operations.
This Task Force will continue to protect our community from becoming an easy target for type of activity.”
