Panama City Beach Police have arrested Patricia Lamar BREWER (44) of 302 Cabana Blvd, Panama City Beach. Ms. Brewer was charged with Robbery and Making a False Bomb Report. These charges stem from earlier Friday September 28th 2012 when Wal-Mart received a phone call that stated a bomb was inside the store and that it would detonate at 10:00am. Officer responded to Wal-Mart and evacuated the store.
With the assistance of the Bay County Sheriffs Office, Wal-Mart store was searched, no bomb was found. While officers were distracted, the Panama City Beach Police received a call that a robbery had just occurred at the PNC Bank at 600 Grand Panama Blvd. Officers learned that a white female entered the bank, demanded money or threatened the bank would blow up. The teller gave the woman an undisclosed amount of money. The teller provided a detailed description of the suspect and a vehicle. Officers searching the immediate located a vehicle matching the description at the Cabana West Apartment complex. Ms. Brewer was identified as the owner and operator of the vehicle and she was located at her apartment. Ms. Brewer admitted to Investigators she called Wal-Mart making the false bomb report to create a diversion and the went to the bank and committed the robbery.
