The Bay County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of Timothy and Jessica Hayes today for Grand Theft charges after the owner of a boat they were supposed to repair reported seeing a picture of the vessel on Facebook in a stripped condition.
On June 10, 2013, the victim filed a complaint stating he had given the boat to the Hayes, the owners of Hayes Mobile Marine, a little over a year ago. The boat was in need of repair. The victim stated he made several attempts to have his boat returned but had no success. A picture placed on Facebook indicated his vessel had been completely stripped, including the motors.
On June 12, 2013, BCSO Investigators discovered the boat at 905 McKenzie Avenue in Panama City. As indicated by the pictures on Facebook, only the fiberglass hull of the vessel remained. The boat was identified by the registration number located on the hull.
Timothy Hayes, DOB 7-19-80, of 15026 Joshua Drive, Youngstown, and Jessica Hayes, DOB 2-11-85, of 5203 Douglas Street, were arrested.
Timothy Hayes was charged with Grand Theft, Criminal Mischief, and Dealing in Stolen Property. Jessica Hayes was charged with Grand Theft, criminal Mischief, Dealing in Stolen Property, and Presenting a False Identification to Regulated Metals.
